Surgeon Cuffs

I just recently did a blog post with this same picture, but I decided to use it again because it illustrates another point. This time however, its something negative. No doubt, the suit looks great. 95% of the general public would look at Paul Walker in this suit and think it looks perfect. There is however a problem. Fake surgeon cuffs. Now, it could be that they just look fake because of the lighting and the angle, but either way its an important issue to address.

When it comes down to surgeon cuffs, there are three types: real surgeon cuffs (usually custom or bespoke), fake surgeon cuffs (They appear to be real with the contrast stitching but are really fake holes) and regular cuffs (off-the-rack suits, without contrast stitching or button holes).

The large majority of people not only don't notice the difference between fake surgeon cuffs and real surgeon cuffs, they don't notice the cuffs period. However, for the educated, style inclined individual, it is very noticeable. My opinion, if you want the surgeon cuff look, go custom or bespoke. Don't even consider the fake button hole look.
